Retired Law Enforcement Professional
27 Years of Service | California Department of Justice
David Jett is a retired law enforcement professional with 27 years of service in Southern California, where he built a career rooted in communication, leadership, and de-escalation. He began his law enforcement journey as a patrolman and detective, spending a decade on the front lines resolving tense and often volatile situations. From domestic violence cases to landlord/tenant disputes and traffic conflicts, David learned early on that the ability to defuse tension through calm, respectful communication was one of the most powerful tools an officer could carry.
He later joined the California Department of Justice, where he served as a special agent, supervisor, and eventually special agent in charge. Over the years, he led major narcotics investigations, complex fraud cases, elder abuse investigations, and major crime operations—each requiring not only technical expertise but also the ability to manage high-stakes encounters with professionalism and restraint. David also oversaw and trained teams of agents, ensuring that de-escalation and officer safety were at the forefront of operations.
With decades of real-world experience in high-pressure environments, David has developed a deep understanding of human behavior, conflict resolution, and leadership under stress. His career has been defined by applying and teaching de-escalation strategies that prioritize safety, reduce risk, and build trust—even in the most challenging situations.
Today, David draws on this background to share proven de-escalation and safety techniques with others, helping professionals across industries improve their communication skills, manage conflict effectively, and create safer environments.
Outside of his professional work, David is married to his high school sweetheart, is the proud father of identical twin daughters, and enjoys time with his five grandchildren. His personal interests include woodworking, golf, and snow skiing.
