28 Years Law Enforcement | Retired Assistant Chief, CA DOJ
JT is a 28-year law enforcement veteran and co-founder of Safe Site Strategies. He brings real-world experience in workplace violence prevention and conflict resolution training—grounded in a law enforcement career that spans across California and Nevada.
In 2024, JT retired as Assistant Chief from the California Department of Justice, where he oversaw daily operations for four statewide bureaus responsible for conducting a variety of investigations including homicide, officer involved shootings, human trafficking, drug interdiction, gambling enforcement, forensic services, internal affairs, and dignitary and facilities protection. His leadership shaped policy and field response across some of the most complex and high-risk domains in public safety.
After retiring from CA DOJ, JT moved to southern Nevada where he continued his law enforcement career. He currently leads a team of investigators at the Henderson City Attorney's Office where they prosecute criminal cases in Henderson Municipal Court.
Throughout his career, JT has supervised major crimes teams, led multi-agency training initiatives, and developed scenario-based programs that emphasize emotional intelligence, tactical communication, and risk mitigation. His instructional approach blends law enforcement precision with relatable, civilian-accessible tools—empowering individuals and organizations to respond confidently under pressure.
JT holds a Bachelor's degree from California State University, Sacramento and a Master's in Public Safety from the University of Virginia. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and the Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute, with advanced credentials in leadership, crisis management, and behavioral threat assessment.
At Safe Site Strategies, JT's mission is clear: equip everyday people with the mindset, language, and presence to defuse conflict before it escalates—and to survive when it does.
JT has a son in the army and a daughter who is a senior in college studying business. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling with friends and family, playing tennis and watching all levels of baseball.
